LA LGBT Center Vanguard Awards

The Los Angeles LGBT Center is thrilled to announce major changes to our 47th Anniversary Gala Vanguard Awards. Please join us on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at our brand new location at the Pacific Design Center. Our new Presenting Sponsor HBO has generously donated the HBO Party Pavilion built atop the iconic PDC fountain. We are so excited to be hosting our gala in this unique location in the heart of West Hollywood, and we know the location will add to an unforgettable experience. The Los Angeles LGBT Center’s Anniversary Gala is our premier annual celebration attended by more than 1,200 of the region’s most important leaders in the civic, corporate, entertainment and philanthropic communities who gather to celebrate our accomplishments, as well as laudable individuals and organizations. Past honorees include the late Senator Edward Kennedy, Sir Elton John, Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka, Lily Tomlin, and Jane Fonda; presenters have included Elizabeth Taylor, Tipper Gore, Shirley MacLaine, Nathan Lane, and a host of other leading figures.

Friday, September 23, LAUNCH PARTY at Hamilton-Selway Fine Art Gallery
Meet & greet with artists Jad Najjar, Louis Carreon and more to be announced.

Jad Najjar

Los Angeles based architect/artist Jad Nickola Najjar creates all of his work from a pure sense of his own spiritual awakening. Drawing inspiration from a rich tapestry of Lebanese and Cuban cultures, his art speaks to a triumph of the imagination. Due to his diverse background in architecture, photography, and fashion, he has courted and excited patrons and interior designers, who have placed his work internationally. Jad has a B.A. in Architecture from the University f Texas, which helped him create a very successful real estate career with the knowledge and ability to help buyers and sellers with remodeling, presentation, staging and placing his art in listings as an extra push for that "wow factor," which helps listings sell quickly even in the toughest market. He has represented many celebrities, and some of them have bought his custom-designed homes. His real estate, art, and home design can be seen on the website

Louis Carreon

Through passion, honesty, and a willingness to share his work, Louis is one of today's most influential and innovative contemporary artists, having been commissioned by some of the most recognized venues throughout the United States including the SoHo House and the Viper Room. Carreon will be live painting a piece of art to be donated to the 47th Anniversary Gala Vanguard Awards silent auction.
